Collaboration essential to prevent cyber threats
Recently, the MSB was tasked with preparing a national cybersecurity coordination center. One of the tasks of the center will be to promote and facilitate the participation of industry in cross-border projects and cybersecurity measures, which is welcomed by IT&Telecom companies.
- "We hope that this work will increase collaboration between the public sector and industry in this important area. For Sweden, comparisons and studies have shown that our preparedness to prevent cyber threats is worse than comparable countries," says Christina Ramm-Ericson, Head of Industrial Policy at IT&Telecomföretagen.
The center will be the Swedish part of the network of national coordination centers that the EU decided on in May. The network will complement the European Cybersecurity Competence Center for Business, Technology and Research to be established in Bucharest, Romania.
- "Accelerated digitalization calls for greater investment in cybersecurity, We must achieve successful digitalization while maintaining a high level of security. Digitalization means that we increase our dependence on each other's systems in society, which also means that good cybersecurity and robustness become our common responsibility and grow in importance, Christina Ramm-Ericson continues.
The Centres will also promote and disseminate cybersecurity training programs and results of the work carried out within the network.
- In the work ahead, it is important that the collaboration with the business community becomes clearer, which in many parts is part of the critical infrastructure. IT&Telecom and our member companies therefore look forward to contributing to the center's work going forward," concludes Christina Ramm-Ericson.
