Seminar May 24: Techagenda for Sweden - proposals for a world-leading technology nation

Welcome to a seminar with political debate and the launch of TechSverige's latest report - "A tech agenda for Sweden".

The digital revolution has fundamentally changed society and redrawn the playing field for citizens, businesses and public actors. In parallel, the tech sector has emerged as Sweden's new basic industry - a guarantor of growth, employment and competitiveness and an accelerator of a sustainable, democratic society. Sweden has long been at the forefront of taking advantage of the opportunities offered by digitalization, but we need to secure our leading position.

This year is an election year and ahead of the coming term of office, TechSverige has produced a concrete action plan for politicians and decision-makers, with proposals and input in ten priority areas on how we can best take advantage of the opportunities of digitization and continue to strengthen Sweden as a world-leading technology nation. A tech agenda for Sweden.

- "Sweden needs even stronger political commitment and leadership. The level of ambition needs to be raised, as well as the courage to make the necessary decisions that lay the foundation for a sustainable, future-oriented and competitive Sweden," says Åsa Zetterberg, Director of TechSverige.

The opportunities are enormous, although there are challenges in terms of cybersecurity and skills supply, for example. Digitization and technology are not the answer to all societal challenges, but they are a factor that we must all relate to - and that requires broad political commitment and increased knowledge. Business and politicians must work together to create the society we want.

The launch of the tech agenda will take place at TechSverige's seminar at Epicenter Stockholm, and digitally via link. It will be an afternoon about tech as an enabler - filled with political debate and initiated conversation about how Sweden should take the lead in the digital transition and secure its place as a world-leading technology nation.

During the afternoon, you will hear from Khashayar Farmanbar, Minister for Energy and Digitalization (S), and take part in a political debate with representatives from the parliamentary parties, Teres Lindberg (S) and Lars Hjälmered (M). Also participating are Åsa Zetterberg, TechSverige's Association Director, Per Wallentin, Chairman of the Board of TechSverige and CEO of Knowit, Christina Ramm-Ericson, Head of Industrial Policy at TechSverige, Ola Ahlvarsson, tech entrepreneur and founder of Epicenter, Magnus Aschan, Editor-in-Chief of Warp News, Ulrika Schenström, CEO of the think tank Fores and Binette Seck, co-founder of Changers Tech and named IT Woman of the Year 2021.
