tech profiles - including Minister for Digitalization Khashayar Farmanbar.

- It is TechSverige's hope that with this report we can contribute to creating greater political commitment, which in itself results in a more ambitious tech policy, ahead of the 2022 election and during the next term of office, says Åsa Zetterberg, Federal Director of Tech Sweden, who together with Per Wallentin, TechSverige's Chairman of the Board, began the afternoon with the official launch of the tech agenda.

37 policy proposals in 10 areas

The Tech Agenda is TechSweden's input to the election campaign and the coming term of office to future-proof Sweden as a world-leading technology nation. It contains 37 policy proposals in ten priority areas that politicians and other decision-makers will need to focus on to ensure that the Swedish tech sector does not fall behind - which would jeopardize Sweden's growth, welfare, employment and competitiveness. The conclusion is that the Swedish tech sector is important and strong, but international competition is intensifying and action is needed.

The report builds on last year's acclaimed report Tech - Sweden's new basic industry, which showed that the tech industry has overtaken traditional Swedish industrial companies in terms of contribution to GDP, and as an important engine for job creation, sustainability and exports. In this year's study, we have turned our gaze outwards and compared ourselves with other countries in Europe and Asia, as well as the United States. A clear trend is that Sweden's tech industry is losing momentum. This trend needs to be reversed.

Policy debate and challenging futures panel

The Future Panel broadened the perspective

Today's seminar was about how to seize the opportunities and meet the challenges. After the introductory discussion between Åsa Zetterberg, Director of TechSverige and Per Wallentin, Chairman of the Board of TechSverige, Christina Ramm-Ericson, Head of Industrial Policy at TechSverige, presented the main conclusions and proposals in the report. Anna Bäck, CEO of Kivra, Jenny Lindqvist, Head of Northern and Central Europe at Ericsson and Beatrice Silow, Head of Communications and Culture at Nexer Group contributed with insights and input from member companies before it was time for debate and discussion.

Many thanks to Lars Hjälmered (M) and Teres Lindberg (S) who met in the political debate, and to our outspoken future panel with entrepreneur Ola Ahlvarsson, Epicenter, IT woman of the year Binette Seck, Changers Tech, tech journalist Magnus Aschan, Warp News and Ulrica Schenström, CEO of the think tank Fores, who all raised the overarching question of what kind of society we want. The seminar was moderated by experienced journalist Anna Olin Kardell.

The seminar took place in connection with TechSverige's annual meeting and ended with a mingle.
