Here are the winners of the Tech Awards 2023

The winners of the Tech Awards Sweden 2023, an industry competition and event organized by TechSverige and Foundry, are now known. Among this year's winners are Tibber, Örebrobostäder and Space Academy.

- "This feels fantastic and it's especially nice that it's for something so important. We need to get more young people into the tech industry and this award is proof that we are on the right track. Through the award, we can hopefully reach out to even more people.

Tech Awards Sweden rewards and celebrates companies, organizations and individuals who innovate and create value for their customers, employees and society at large with the help of tech. Winners are presented in six award categories: Competence Award of the Year, Sustainability Award of the Year, Security Award of the Year, Most Valuable Use of Tech of the Year, Most Influential Person in Tech of the Year and Tech Company of the Year.

- It has been incredibly interesting to read and discuss the nominated contributions together with our eminent jury. There has been a great breadth and high quality of the contributions and together we have washed out the gold grains. It is a unanimous jury that stands behind this year's winners who so clearly exemplify how digitization and the power of innovation are an enabler that contributes strongly to social benefit and to sustainable development, says Åsa Zetterberg, Association Director at TechSverige and chairman of the jury.

Winners of the Tech Awards 2023:

Competence Award of the Year: Space Academy (Space) 

The jury's motivation:
With its clear focus on making knowledge accessible to young people and meeting the skills needs of the future in tech and digital development, the winner of the Skills of the Year Award has created a unique place for the digital generation. Through its visionary and inclusive approach to education and culture, it educates young people in the skills of the future while highlighting important role models. With impressive commitment and great results, it has trained over 1,600 young people in 2022, 55% of whom were girls, and with a fantastic student satisfaction rate. By making digital skills and learning accessible to everyone regardless of background, this year's winner has created a sustainable, inclusive and developing tech hub where future tech stars can develop and flourish. The winner of the Skills of the Year Award is Space Academy.

Sustainability award of the year: Örebrobostäder 

Jury's motivation:
The winner of the Sustainability of the Year Award recognized early on the potential of cutting-edge digital technology to address a problem that was on everyone's lips in the winter of 2022/2023. Using connected devices, AI and data-driven decisions, the winner has achieved impressive measurable results that show in practice how it is possible to reduce climate impact while keeping costs down with impact down to the individual level. In times where the need for transformation too often gives way to populist, short-term measures, the winner has shown how smart solutions make transition attractive and deliver results here and now. We hope and believe that their work will inspire many more in the future. This year's Sustainability Award goes to Örebrobostäder. 

Safety of the Year Award: Recorded Future 

Jury's motivation:
In these troubled times, information and cyber security issues are high on the agenda. Business intelligence and the ability to monitor the evolving threat landscape are becoming increasingly important for more and more people in our fully digitized society. By collecting, structuring and analyzing large amounts of data on cyber threats, the winner of the Security of the Year Award has taken research to innovation and brought the company's services to a global market. With real-time services available around the clock, this year's winner is helping its customers tackle threats. Today, they provide internet-scale intelligence data for more than 40 countries' national defences, businesses and organizations seeking to preserve a free democratic world. After 13 years, they are the world's largest intelligence company with a turnover of SEK 2.5 billion. Their services are groundbreaking and make the world a little safer. The winner of the Security of the Year Award is Recorded Future. 

Most valuable use of tech this year: Your ECPAT/Safe upload (Sticky Beat and ECPAT Sweden) 

Jury's motivation:
When tech is at its best, the value is priceless! With its smart and simple service, the winner of the Most Valuable Use of Tech of the Year shows how a digital solution can make a real difference.The winners have successfully helped reduce the psychological suffering of thousands of children and young people. Finding sexually abusive images and videos online is a terrible thing. At that moment, being able to take control of the spread and remove images and videos is incredibly important. An inspiring collaboration that is indescribably valuable and really shows that what's online doesn't always have to stay online. The winner of the Most Valuable Use of Tech of the Year is Ditt ECPAT/Säker uppladdning by Sticky Beat and ECPAT Sweden.  

Winner Tech50: Marcus Murray

The jury's motivation:
Both knowledge sharing and decisiveness are essential to meet one of today's greatest challenges. By combining these with great openness and deep expertise, this year's winner has positioned itself and its employees as a steady Swedish anchor in a stormy world. With his leading tools and solutions for customers, his practical insights for the public and his concrete efforts against serious threats, he is making a big difference, to make Sweden and Swedish businesses safer. Today and tomorrow. The Most Influential Person in Tech 2023 is Marcus Murray, Truesec. 

Tech company of the year: Tibber 

Jury's motivation:
The tech company of the year has used technology and creativity to change people's behavior and helped society as a whole to switch to lower and more sustainable consumption. A smart solution that, by smoothing out peaks and troughs, creates a more balanced system. Since its launch in 2016, more than half a million people have joined this movement that brings together techies, environmentalists, drivers and anyone else who wants to be more in control while saving money and the environment.In 2022, when electricity prices have gone through the roof, this phenomenon has become a natural topic of conversation at house parties, couples' dinners and coffee breaks. Everyone wants to be the boss of their electricity bill - Tibber is the tech company of the year.
