Digitization Council: What matters most for the new agency

The Swedish Digitization Council, with TechSverige's CEO Åsa Zetterberg as one of its members, has signed a debate article in NyTeknik. The article highlights the need for a digitization authority with a broader mandate and a clear mission to drive digital development, writes the government's digitization council.

The government has tasked PTS and Digg with proposing what a unified digitalization authority could look like. If the merger is to have a real effect, the new authority must have a clear and long-term mission and then three things are particularly important according to the authors of the article; an authority with overall responsibility for ai,an authority that coordinates digital infrastructure and an authority that has both a mandate and responsibility for promoting digitization.
