Scaleout Systems Wins the 2026 Security Award

Today, the winner of the 2026 Security Award was announced, an award presented by the industry and employer organization TechSverige in collaboration with SME-D. This year’s winner is Scaleout Systems, which is being recognized for its groundbreaking technology in secure and decentralized AI.

This year’s Security Award was presented during the Stockholm Tech Show at Kistamässan in Stockholm by Minister of Defense Pål Jonson, together with John Billow, Director of the National Cybersecurity Center, and Åsa Zetterberg, CEO of TechSverige.

The award recognizes organizations that, through innovation, collaboration, and a sense of responsibility, strengthen Sweden’s security, resilience, and public trust.

This year’s winner, Scaleout Systems, has developed technology that makes it possible to train AI models locally where the data is located, without the need to share sensitive information. The solution enables advanced AI development in environments where traditional methods do not work, particularly in the defense, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors.

“Scaleout Systems is a cutting-edge technology company driving the development of secure and advanced AI. With impressive innovative strength and world-class solutions, the company demonstrates how technology can strengthen Sweden’s security, resilience, and competitiveness,” says Åsa Zetterberg, CEO of TechSverige and jury chair.

Scaleout Systems’ technology has clear dual-use characteristics, with the same solutions creating value in both civilian applications and security-critical contexts. The company also participates in NATO’s innovation program and is recognized for its focus on security, integrity, and collaboration.

Motivation of the jury:

“In an era marked by rapid technological development and growing tensions in security policy, safe and trustworthy AI is becoming increasingly important for competitiveness, resilience, and security. The 2026 Security Award is therefore being presented to a company that, through groundbreaking Swedish innovation, demonstrates how new technology can strengthen society on multiple levels.”

By enabling advanced AI analysis without the need to share sensitive data, and by training AI models locally where the data is stored, the company is paving the way for AI development in environments where traditional methods do not work, particularly in defense, industry, and critical infrastructure. The technology has clear dual-use characteristics, where the same solutions create value in both civilian operations and security-critical contexts.

“With a strong focus on security, privacy, and collaboration, as well as participation in NATO’s innovation program, this year’s winner demonstrates how Swedish tech can contribute to a more resilient, secure, and trustworthy society. The winner of the 2026 Security Award is Scaleout Systems.”
