Hooray to all 65 female CEOs in the industry! But you need more of you...

Tomorrow is International Women's Day and it's time to take a critical look at our own industry. According to our statistics, 32% of employees in the IT and telecom sector are women, and we see that the more "technical" the work, the lower the proportion of women. The proportion of female managers is around 25%, but only 7% of our member companies have a female CEO.

The sad thing is that the proportion of women in the industry is unfortunately increasing very slowly and has basically remained constant for the past three years. I find this a bit surprising, as I know how hard many of our companies have worked to recruit women - the few that exist.

Generally speaking, in higher education, women are now in the majority, not least in attractive programs where high admission scores are required, such as medicine, law and business. But technical colleges are still a male stronghold (with the exception of certain courses such as industrial economics). This is regrettable, as technical colleges are the natural recruitment base for large parts of the business world. If there are no women there, there will naturally be no women in business.

Would like to give a big HURRA for all our 65 female CEOs. You are role models for all of us - help us to make you visible - CEO in an IT company - it should be the dream job for all young girls.
