Policy initiatives for welfare with welfare technology

IT&Telecom companies have developed proposals for goals and concrete initiatives linked to the Future Commission's final report "Swedish Future Challenges".

The Future Commission's final report "Swedish Future Challenges" describes a number of areas focusing on the challenges facing society. It is a comprehensive account of the key issues facing politics, business and individuals, in the short and long term (2020 and 2050).

Common to many of the issues is how we can maintain and further develop welfare. Its core areas are health, social care and education. But we believe that there are also other relevant areas that belong to good welfare; foremost among these are an efficiently functioning labor market and a good environment (including the important climate issues).

But the Commission does not (and was not expected to) have proposals for initiatives to address the challenges. It will of course be the subject of more investigations, initiated by the political system. But equally important is to highlight proposals from the business community.

IT&Telecom companies therefore want to make their contribution through a number of concrete proposals for action, with the aim of meeting the Commission's identified future challenges. There is
a great potential that IT and telecom can contribute. We hope that our proposals for action can be a starting point for further discussion and debate!

For each area, we highlight some of the challenges that exist and,
with a vision for 2050 as a basis, provide a number of interim targets with a horizon of 2020.
