Hope for balance in data retention inquiry
Today, representatives from the industry met with the government's investigator Sigurd Heuman and his investigating secretaries Mikael Kullberg and Christofer Gatenheim at the Security and Integrity Protection Board, SIN.
Sigurd and his team have a challenging mission, but I feel hopeful because after today's meeting I feel that Sigurd Heuman is definitely the right person for the job, among other things because he takes personal integrity seriously. I'm also pleased that there is a genuine interest in sharing the industry's experience and knowledge. We are not spoiled with that in the data storage context.
Then it is remarkable, if not completely outrageous, that the outdated requirements for an SOU to be sent to print before it is to be submitted to the Ministry of Justice means that this rapid investigation's time frame is shrunk by a whole month! A month's extra investigation time can make a difference in such a challenging investigation. Time to say hello to digitalization in this area too!
Ps. What the picture illustrates is also a bit remarkable - hello diversity...
