IT&T telecom companies create value for digital startups

Next week we at IT&Telekomföretagen are doing something new. We are helping to initiate Nordic Tech Week in Berlin. It's an opportunity for us, and our Nordic neighbors, together with the Nordic Council of Ministers, to showcase the best and brightest digital startups in the biggest European market - Germany.

Why Germany, you might ask? Germany is currently in a rapid transition phase that makes the market particularly interesting for Swedish companies at the forefront of digitalization. Massive investments are being made in digitalization in German industry. These investments are making waves and digitization issues have recently gained increasing political attention. Most recently, Angela Merkel established a new Digitalization Council earlier this autumn to support the German government in its digitalization ambitions. From the IT&Telecom companies' home horizon, we also notice an increased German political interest in what is happening in Sweden. There is a curiosity about us and our relatively high digital maturity. Something we should and will be proud of.

In addition, there is a great need for Sweden - with Brexit and the United Kingdom's withdrawal - to actively seek new digital peers in the EU. This is a political endeavour, but there is also an important market dimension to such a rapprochement. Stronger trade-economic ties also create the conditions for political rapprochement.

It is therefore very gratifying that we at IT&Telekomföretagen can bring seven Swedish start-ups and member companies to Berlin. On paper, this is a rather diverse group that, I believe, represents much of what will make up the Swedish business community of the future. Hopefully they and we together are a perfect match for Germany.

Welcome to Berlin Zynapp, Norna.ai, Baffin Bay Networks, Cuviva, ANTS, Publit and Multigrid!
