Hello CEO: Carl-Johan Hamilton, Ants Tech Recruiters

In TechSverige's article series Hej vd (Hello CEO), we focus on the decision on an independent TechSverige and the development of the tech industry. Board member Carl-Johan Hamilton, owner and chairman of Ants Tech Recruiters, believes that the industry's development will be crucial for Sweden's future.

TechSverige recently presented the report Swedish tech industry 2023, which shows that tech companies continue to contribute strongly to the Swedish economy and society. How do you see the development and future of the tech industry?

- How well the tech industry develops over the next decade will determine Sweden's future. It is in our industry that the big solutions to our problems, but also some of the risks of our disruptive times, lie. It is extremely important that we succeed in attracting wise and smart people to our industry - people who can drive development, but who can also deal with the challenges and problems with humility. It is difficult to predict the future, but I am sure that it will be an exciting industry to work in over the coming years," says Carl-Johan Hamilton.

TechSverige's board has decided to step out of the current collaboration with Almega; in what way do you think an independent TechSverige will be able to deliver increased member benefits to its member companies?

- An independent TechSverige is better placed to act on the challenges that our members face. Our industry is often the first to encounter problems, so we need to be able to act quickly and with a strong voice. The major, common issues that apply to the entire business community, we will continue to have good conditions to collaborate with Almega and the rest of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.

"We will, together with our trade union counterparts, continue to develop our collective agreements."

- I am also convinced that the employer service will benefit from being specialized and niche based on the specific needs and wishes of the tech industry, while at the same time providing us with even better conditions to use digitalization and developments in AI to provide a first-class and efficient member service. We will, together with our trade union counterparts, continue to develop our collective agreements. TechSverige embraces the Swedish model of collective agreements and party responsibility instead of legislation, political interference and EU directives. We want to take even more responsibility for our sector's role and part in this and work to ensure that more tech companies understand the value of collective agreements.

Looking ahead, how do you see TechSverige in 5-7 years? What position does the association have in the public debate and what role does it play for all of Sweden's tech companies?

- If the development we are now seeing continues, TechSverige will be one of Sweden's most important opinion leaders and deliver a first-class employer service to a rapidly growing tech industry. We will have contributed greatly to Sweden's competitiveness and to the creation of many fun and exciting jobs every year.
