Welcome to IT&Telecom companies - My Bergdahl

In the second week of her new job as international coordinator at the newly established agency DIGG in Sundsvall, she saw the ad that IT&Telekomföretagen is looking for an industrial policy expert with a focus on the telecom industry.

- It was bad timing to say the least. But the work sounded too interesting and exciting not to apply," says My Bergdahl.

My thus went all the way in the process. Since March 1 this year, she is on site at IT&Telekomföretagen.

What does your work as an industrial policy expert entail?
- "I see myself as an important player who will influence various decision-makers in what we consider the right direction. It's about increasing understanding of the industry's challenges, but also showing the fantastic opportunities that exist if responsible politicians and authorities create the right conditions. We in IT&Telecom companies have an important task to make the industry visible.

What do you see as your most important issues for the year?
- There are many issues that are important. Such as broadband expansion in rural areas, the frequency investigation and various security issues such as copyright infringement and encryption.

My is a lawyer at heart and has previously worked at PTS, the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation and for a number of years in Brussels where she negotiated for Sweden with a focus on telecom and IT and industrial policy.

- I was Sweden in the EU Council negotiations, My time in Brussels commented.

What do you do when you are not working?
- Working out, cooking, hanging out with friends, outdoor activities. But mostly I like to laze around! And just taking it easy," My concludes.
