CGI

Conny Svensson, Head of AI, CGI

What do you offer in concrete terms?

We have many experts in sought-after areas such as data analytics, AI, systems development, integration, project management but also change management and innovation who are in great need when we have to rethink. If we can offer their brains to help solve problems, we believe it would create great benefit. We also have many systems and services that are used by authorities and municipalities, and we are also looking at how we can do something there. A concrete initiative we are working on now is with the Karolinska Institute, which needs Bank ID for a symptom monitoring app where we bid on our costs and managed to negotiate down the transaction fees from Finansiell ID-teknik (owned by the banks). For example, we are the ones who sign the tax returns made online with Bank ID at the Swedish Tax Agency.

Why have you taken this initiative?

CGI has a major social responsibility in that we operate and build several socially critical parts for authorities, regions and municipalities, but also for private industry. We have a lot of specialized expertise in areas that are very important in these times. We feel that we want to contribute as best we can with what we are best at to help Sweden in these demanding and challenging times.

What do you want to achieve?

We hope to be able to contribute with concrete results to needs identified in society or where we have come up with a proactive idea. For example, we have a lot of people working in AI and data analysis that can be of great use now. We do this together with our colleagues in the industry. Normally, we might compete to build solutions for customers. Now we need to focus on collaborating and finding common solutions. This requires new forms of cooperation. Only together can we get through this!

Who are you targeting with your initiative?

We mainly target public authorities, regions and municipalities because we believe that is where we can do the most good. Today, almost 40% of our business is in this area, so we have a lot of expertise there and understand these businesses and their processes. But we believe and hope that we might also be able to help other sectors where we can achieve great systemic effects.
