Jacob Rudbäck, CEO, Yepstr

What do you offer in concrete terms?

Yepstr is a platform where households or businesses in need of help can find young people who want to help. These are typical youth jobs such as babysitting, event work or homework help. Yepstr is super local because in many cases the help is right across the street. Today, 35,000 yeppar (we call our young people that) all over Sweden have downloaded the app and created an account.

Why have you taken this initiative?

We are in an extreme situation that is likely to last for a relatively long time. It will take many of us working together. We are already in a crisis situation, but if the healthcare system is not staffed, we will quickly go from crisis to disaster. We therefore want to do what we can to ensure that all health workers who can work, do. Some of this can be solved by ensuring that 'critical' professions still have the right to childcare. But thousands will be left without, and we want to help with that as much as possible.

What do you want to achieve?

We want to do what we can to ensure that healthcare workers and other professions can continue to go to work even if the nursery closes.

Who are you targeting with your initiative?

Primarily to healthcare workers. But also to other professional groups that are needed for society to function.
