Tobias Forngren, CEO, Freelway

What do you offer in concrete terms?
We offer a tool to the public sector and other organizations to coordinate and ensure that elderly and vulnerable groups can stay at home and receive deliveries of supplies and other items. This way, they do not have to expose themselves to contamination in shops and public transport. At the same time, we offer organizations a tool to reduce the risk of infection for key people commuting to work by public transport, such as healthcare workers.

Why have you taken this initiative?
Freelway is a service for the coordination of transportation, both passenger and freight. As our current services can be adapted relatively quickly to create value for society in the current situation, we didn't have to think long before making the decision and developers threw themselves into the task of adapting the service.

What do you want to achieve?
Reducing the spread of infection among the elderly and vulnerable, as well as for care workers, while providing an acceptable service to the elderly despite their isolation at home. At the same time, the service creates jobs in hard-hit industries such as local taxi companies and restaurants (food box deliveries).

Who are you targeting with your initiative?
We are primarily targeting regions and municipalities, but also other organizations with a need to ensure home deliveries of food and postal packages to elderly and vulnerable groups. Even people who are now sitting at home and working remotely can benefit from home deliveries in some regions. In terms of passenger transport, we focus on closed transport systems for healthcare professionals and also for elderly people who in some cases need to leave home.
