Catharina Borgenstierna, CEO, Camanio
This spring, social distancing has become a word on everyone's lips. Many elderly people have been isolated from their loved ones, while every visit from elderly care services could pose a risk. Camanio has been working for a long time with smart solutions for care at home and now we have launched Camanio Safe Meetings, part of the Camanio Smart Care platform. With the solution, caregivers can conduct visits remotely but with maintained presence thanks to two-way communication with image and sound. In the long term, the service can also be used to keep family and friends in touch even when reality does not allow physical meetings. These kinds of solutions are crucial for the future of health and social care.
What do you offer?
Camanio Safe Meetings is a digital video meeting service specifically designed for use in care settings with high privacy and security requirements. The service can be used as part of remote digital supervision and offers healthcare providers a safe and secure way to conduct supervisory visits and other forms of meetings.
The service can be used to facilitate important contact between caregivers and care recipients, for example, when there is a need for direct contact and remote supervision visits. Video meetings add an extra dimension to conversations where it is possible to both see and hear the person in the conversation, which provides several positive aspects that are lacking in, for example, camera supervision. Camanio Safe Meetings is also well suited for use in situations where care recipients are socially or physically isolated, both in nursing homes and in home care.
Camanio Safe Meetings is specifically for the unique needs of the elderly. Supervision visits and other care meetings are planned and scheduled in a digital meeting room with the possibility to include up to 9 participants in the same call. Caregivers manage administration and appointment booking through the Camanio Smart Care service portal, which provides a complete overview and smooth management of appointments. If needed, it is possible to call a care recipient directly without first scheduling a meeting time.
Interfaces and features are adapted for people with cognitive impairment to create a safe and user-friendly experience. During a scheduled appointment, caregivers can remotely connect to the care recipient's tablet with camera and audio turned on. This provides additional peace of mind for both staff and care recipients in situations where an individual does not connect to a meeting as planned or is unable to connect themselves, for example in case of illness or other emergency.
Who are you targeting?
We mainly target municipalities and private health and social care organizations. Organizations that are responsible for elderly care; home care and special housing.
What do you want to achieve?
In the current circumstances with the Corona crisis, we offer the service for free for two months for those who wish to get started quickly. In the long term long term, we envisage that care and visits are well thought out with a mix of physical and digital encounters. The epidemic has really highlighted the need of the access to digital meetings when social distancing distancing characterizes everyday life for many. Used correctly, such tools can create both security, activity and inclusion.
