In TechSverige's article series Hello CEO, we focus on the development of the tech industry and the decision on an independent TechSverige. Board member Anders Olsson, CEO of Telia Sweden, believes that Sweden as a country needs to take advantage of the potential of digitization to a greater extent.



TechSverige recently presented the report Swedish tech industry 2023, which shows that tech companies continue to make a strong contribution to the Swedish economy and society. How do you see the development and future of the tech industry?

- Together, we have the ambition to make Sweden a world-leading technology nation, and the basis for this is a well-developed and secure digital infrastructure. In Sweden, we have come a long way in both the development and use of digital infrastructure. The 5G rollout is moving at a rapid pace, but as a country we must become better at taking advantage of the opportunities that come with digitization. This applies to industry, welfare and society and customers in general. TechSweden has an important role in driving this forward," says Anders Olsson.

The Board of TechSverige has decided to leave the current collaboration with Almega. How do you think an independent TechSverige will be able to deliver increased member benefits to its member companies?

- The tech industry is developing at lightning speed and my hope is that an independent TechSverige will be able to follow this development more easily with a clear focus on the future issues that are crucial for our particular industry.

Looking ahead, how do you see TechSverige in 5-7 years? What position does the association have in the public debate and what role does it play for all of Sweden's tech companies?

- Sweden's future competitiveness depends on rapid and sustainable digitalization that includes everyone. TechSverige will continue to play an important role as a forward-looking, courageous voice in the public debate to create the best possible conditions for a world-leading tech sector in Sweden.
