Hello CEO: Peter Neuberg, Coromatic
Coromatic is the largest end-to-end provider of physical infrastructure for data centers and uninterrupted power supply in mission-critical facilities in the Nordics. Since its inception in 1992, the company has grown to around 800 employees and is present in 20 locations across Sweden, Denmark and Norway, with its Nordic headquarters in Bromma. - "In a time of increasing geopolitical instability and cyber threats, secure, robust and sustainable solutions are the focus of everything we deliver," says Coromatic CEO Peter Neuberg.
Coromatic specializes in designing and optimizing solutions that ensure high availability, productivity, energy efficiency and security for businesses that must never stop - such as data centers, energy companies, healthcare, transport, industry and banks.
- "Our comprehensive range of services includes consulting, including risk analyses that take into account threats such as intrusion and sabotage of infrastructure," says Peter Neuberg and continues:
- "We offer project management, design and construction of secure data centers and server halls, as well as backup and uninterruptible power that protects against both physical and digital interruptions. Energy optimization with efficient cooling, heating and ventilation is another key component, as are our services in service and operations that ensure systems operate optimally and safely around the clock. Our solutions are not only energy efficient, but also designed to withstand new security threats and adapt to technological developments. For example, we can implement intrusion detection and prevention systems, and build redundant infrastructure to protect against sabotage. Excess heat from data centers can be used to heat homes, contributing to a more sustainable society. We also use environmentally friendly fuels such as HVO100 in our power units - to minimize environmental impact. By focusing on both technological innovation and security, we are helping to build a resilient and sustainable society where critical infrastructure is protected against today's and tomorrow's threats.
What are your current focus areas?
- Right now, we are focused on being a leading partner in modernizing and future-proofing society's preparedness together with our customers across a wide range of industries. This includes both security-sensitive and security-classified organizations, as well as other types of operations that need to be protected against increasing security threats such as geopolitical instability, cyber attacks and physical sabotage of infrastructure.
Peter Neuberg, CEO, Coromatic"By embracing AI technology, we aim to be at the forefront of technology"
- We support our customers in taking advantage of rapid technological developments while protecting their businesses from potential threats. This includes managing fluctuating electricity prices, navigating a changing energy market, and implementing new technologies, especially in secure cooling and data center protection. We also help interpret and adapt operations to new EU directives and security rules. By combining technological innovation with proven security solutions, we enable our customers to stay ahead in an increasingly uncertain security environment.
How do you use AI in your work?
- AI has a growing role in how we work. Many of our employees are using AI-based tools such as ChatGPT and embedded AI features in image and video production software to streamline and improve their work processes. We are currently testing and exploring the possibilities of integrating AI into more parts of our work, such as the design process, to create even more optimized, safe and innovative infrastructure solutions. AI can be used to anticipate and identify security threats, analyze risks and propose proactive protection measures. By embracing AI technology, we aim to stay at the forefront of technology and continue to offer our customers the most advanced, secure and efficient solutions on the market.
What do you see as the tech industry's biggest challenges right now?
- One of the biggest challenges is energy supply - both now and in the future. With rapid electrification, digitization and the increasing use of AI, we are faced with the question of how to distribute limited energy across different parts of society. Power shortages could become a critical factor affecting everything from data centers to transport and industry. Security issues are another major challenge. Geopolitical instability, cyberattacks and sabotage of critical infrastructure pose significant risks to the tech industry. Protecting data and infrastructure against these threats is crucial to maintaining trust and business continuity.
- Skills supply is also a significant challenge. There is a growing need for specialists in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, data analytics and energy management and electricity infrastructure. Attracting and retaining talent in these fields is crucial for the industry's continued innovation and growth. To overcome these challenges, we need to collaborate across industries and invest in skills development and sustainable, innovative and secure solutions that ensure both energy availability and security.
