Digital queue stickers help retailers in the coronavirus crisis

CRM-Konsulterna, a company that helps its customers develop their customer relationships on a daily basis. But when the corona crisis came, a number of employees decided to join Hack the Crisis, a hackathon that took place in early April. Together, they found a solution that allows customers who are going to shop in stores to stand in line. Without having to stand in a queue.

Hack the Crisis had three focuses: saving lives, saving business and saving society. The working group that CRM-Konsulterna was part of focused on saving the business community. The solution was to develop a digital queue note.

After Hack the Crisis, CRM-Konsulterna took the idea further and now a number of employees have worked together in their spare time to develop the Queue App service. A digital queue system that means that customers do not have to worry about having to crowd with others when they go shopping.

- We wanted to make it as easy as possible. So the solution allows customers to swipe a digital tag from the store's Facebook page or via a QR code that the merchant can put in the window of the store. It sounds trivial, but for retailers today it is crucial to follow the guidelines and since you can't have too many people in the store at the same time, a digital tag system makes it much easier. That's why the service is free right now," says Kathrine Hogseth, CEO of CRM-Konsulterna.

The idea is that smaller businesses can use the keel app to maintain their customer base until the crisis is over. The solution is simple and all shop owners need to manage the system is a mobile phone.

- We are currently testing the system at Åsas Fisk in Spånga. It is a store that sells seafood but also ready-made food boxes and wants to reassure its customers that they do not have to crowd with others. Now, of course, we hope that more people will want to use the system so that the stores can continue their business despite the corona crisis, says Kathrine Hogseth.
