The supply site - a database of digital solutions during the coronavirus pandemic

In the wake of the pandemic, there is a great need to find new ways of working and solutions to prevent the spread of infection, treat and rehabilitate affected patients and protect healthcare workers in their work. With this in mind, IT&Telekomföretagen, together with the industry organization Swedish Medtech and the strategic innovation program Medtech4Health, has created a database where employees in health, care and social services can quickly get a picture of what is available on the market.

- The site contains a directory service where decision-makers, municipal employees and the general public can find digital support for increased security, independence, etc.", says Lars Lundsberg, industry policy expert at IT&Telekomföretagen with responsibility for welfare technology.

The supply site is a database/portal open to all suppliers offering relevant products or solutions aimed at health, social care and social services. This can include digital aids, family support, medication management, safety-enhancing technology and much more.

The portal allows health, care and social services staff to easily search for these products and services. Searches can be made by type of activity, area of activity, by need or using free text search. The portal is a living forum and the idea is that suppliers continuously add products and services. Companies are responsible for their own registration and all information in the database is open to the public.

Utbudsplatsen is part of digitalvardochomsorg.se, a website for coordination and inspiration around digital tools for municipal health, care and social services in the ongoing corona pandemic. The website offers knowledge and tools to free up time and find new ways of working. The initiative is run by the research institute RISE in collaboration with the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Swedish eHealth Agency, the Swedish Agency for Participation, SKR, the Swedish Association of Social Welfare Managers, the Swedish Agency for Public Procurement, PTS, Vårdanalys, IT&Telekomföretagen, Swedish Medtech and Medtech4health, and is co-financed by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

- The industry's participation is natural, given that we and our members are experts in digital services in the municipal sector. We are aware that the needs are often urgent and that there is no time to get the overview you need. That's why we want to offer a quick route to existing solutions. This is where our members' services can make a real difference," says Lars Lundberg.

Distancing a word on everyone's lips

This spring, social distancing has become a word on everyone's lips. Many elderly people have been isolated from their loved ones, while every visit from elderly care services could pose a risk. Camanio has been working for a long time on smart solutions for home care and has now launched Camanio Safe Encounters, part of the Camanio Smart Care platform. The solution allows caregivers to conduct visits remotely but with maintained presence thanks to two-way communication with image and sound. In the long term, the service can also be used to keep family and friends in touch even when reality does not allow physical meetings.

- These kinds of solutions are crucial for the future of health and social care and we are therefore grateful to be part of the Utbudsplatsen initiative and digitalvardochomsorg.se," says Catharina Borgenstierna, CEO, Camanio.

- At a critical time when many elderly and chronically ill people are living in isolation in the community, digital services in health and social care are more important than ever. Services such as Tunstall's Digital Supervision and Remote Communication allow staff to provide people in need of care with supervision without risking the further spread of infections. Access to these services is crucial and can save lives.

In a very short time, digitalvardochomsorg.se and Utbudsplatsen have been created with the aim of broadening and getting started with digitization in our municipalities. The initiative is exemplary and as a supplier and partner, Tunstall wants to participate by showing and the services available for immediate delivery. The goal is to protect our elderly and chronically ill in society.
