Skip wants to help restaurants while reducing congestion
Many restaurants are struggling with reduced revenue, while being responsible for complying with new crowding rules. The Skip app allows diners to order and pay on their mobile phones, reducing the risk of people queuing up too close together. During the spring, the app's founders let all restaurants, bars and cafés use the app for free.
Why have you taken this initiative?
- We quickly realized that the restrictions imposed by the authorities on our prospective customers in the restaurant sector would be a severe blow to their revenues. Many have struggled with profitability and are still struggling to make ends meet. It was not a difficult choice to rethink and change direction to help struggling restaurants, bars and cafés from closing again," says Andreas Persson, CEO of Skip.
What do you offer?
- SKIP is an app that reduces physical queuing and allows restaurant customers to order and pay on their mobile phones. Instead of waiting in line, they can order and pay on the go, and pick up their order when it's ready. To help entrepreneurs in the restaurant industry, we offer SKIP with no extra fees, our customers only pay the cost price for the transactions carried out. For those who have not yet digitized, this will also be a free step in that direction.
Who are you targeting?
- Anyone who has a business in the café, restaurant, event industry, etc. If there is food and drink to sell, we are happy to help.
What do you want to achieve?
- We simply want to help our friends in the industry get through this crisis.
How has it been going?
- We have a bunch of restaurants and cafés that have jumped on board already, and more are on the way. Existing customers are happy and we are pleased to be able to offer them an extra push in a difficult period. The feedback we have received is that it is smooth and easy to join.
