5G, budget and corona in the Telecom Studio

The first episode of Telekomnyheternas Telekomstudion this fall featured IT&Telekomföretagen's business policy expert My Bergdahl. Also invited were Staffan Åkesson, Chief Technology Officer at Telia, and Haval van Drumpt, CEO of Tre. They discussed 5G, the upcoming budget and the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

- For us at IT&Telekomföretagen, the pandemic has naturally meant major changes. We are a member organization, so depending on the needs and wishes of our member companies, we act accordingly. Our focus has been on disseminating information to our members, but also on advocacy work to mitigate the effects on companies to some extent," said My Bergdahl.

During the discussion on the government's upcoming budget bill, everyone agreed that more money is needed to achieve better connectivity throughout the country. IT&Telecom companies have been pushing the issue for a long time and My Bergdahl expressed a clear hope that the money will now arrive.

- At our webinar last week, Minister for Energy and Digitalization Anders Ygeman talked about substantial investments. "I don't think that the 50 million announced for better connectivity on the trains is the only thing that will go to broadband.
