Measurement of radio wave exposure from 5G base stations in Sweden
The rollout of 5G is ongoing in Sweden as well as in many other countries. The same radio equipment and frequency bands used for 4G can often be used for 5G, but new equipment has been introduced that also uses other frequency bands and antennas that can direct radio signals in the directions where they are most useful and reduce them in other directions (so-called "beamforming").
Together with member companies, TechSverige has produced information on the radio wave exposure from these new 5G base stations and compares this with the total exposure level from all mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G and 5G).
The results were obtained from measurements near 5G base stations in central Stockholm, carried out by Ericsson Research for TechSverige.
