On Wednesday, November 23, the winner of TechSverige's AI Swede of the Year 2022 award was announced. The award goes to a person who has made a special contribution to the development and visibility of Swedish AI and this year's winner is Jonas Tannerstad, Head of Electricity and Automation at Örebrobostäder AB.

Jonas Tannerstad is rewarded for his innovative and successful work with the concrete use of artificial intelligence (AI) in energy and climate-smart urban development, which has led to significant results in terms of reduced electricity consumption and thus reduced climate impact. In his work, Jonas Tannerstad has shown that the digital and green transitions belong together. With AI and data-driven decisions, Örebrobostäder AB has saved 52 percent in electricity consumption and 18 percent in heat consumption compared to 2005. These are just steps along the way, and the targets for the future are even higher.
