Sweden has voted—this term in office will be decisive for Sweden in the AI era
Sweden has voted. As the votes are being counted and the framework for the next legislative term takes shape, TechSverige urges the political parties to make tech, AI, and digitalization central to their future policies. In our future agenda, “Techsäkra Sverige,” we present nearly 50 reforms that can strengthen Sweden’s competitiveness, welfare, and security.
The preliminary election results do not yet provide all the answers regarding what the next government and its policies will look like. But regardless of how the formation of the government turns out, Sweden needs to move from strategy to implementation in order to strengthen its position in the technological shift.
“Sweden has held an election in the midst of one of the biggest technological shifts in modern times. Now, the next legislative term must be a term of implementation. Technology and AI are crucial to Sweden’s competitiveness, jobs, welfare, and security,” says Christina Ramm-Ericson, Head of Economic Policy at TechSverige.
TechSverige’s future agenda, “Techsäkra Sverige,” presents nearly 50 reforms for the next legislative term. The agenda outlines what is needed to strengthen Sweden’s position in the technological shift and create better conditions for innovation, the supply of skilled labor, digital infrastructure, and a growing AI economy.
“Sweden is well-positioned, but time is of the essence. We now need long-term policies and reforms that will enable more tech companies to start up, grow, and invest here. When the Swedish tech sector is strong, Sweden is stronger too,” says Christina Ramm-Ericson.
