Opinion: The government is excluding girls from AI
Schools need to give all students the opportunity to understand, use, and critically evaluate AI technology. This is a matter of rights and a matter of Sweden’s future workforce, writes TechSverige CEO Åsa Zetterberg, along with decision-makers from various industries, in Dagens Industri.
The government’s AI strategy aims to attract more women to the AI sector, and the STEM strategy seeks to encourage more young people to choose technology and the natural sciences. Therefore, according to the authors of the article, the curriculum cannot move in the opposite direction. The Riksdag’s decision on June 3 must not be followed by regulatory work that further weakens digital competence.
