No sustainable transition without tech industry solutions
Last Friday, TechSverige's Sustainability Council met to discuss current issues - now with a new chair, Johanna Giorgi, at the helm. What a fantastic mix of companies we have with so much drive and commitment to sustainable development!
The Council heard from Gabriel Wikström, the government's national coordinator for the 2030 Agenda. He gave the Council his reflections on the (lack of) political leadership required to bring about the transformation needed in society to achieve the climate goals, where the tech industry's digital solutions are an important tool to use. Politicians, businesses and citizens must all be involved in this transition.
The Council was also visited by Anniina Kristinsson from Nordic Sustainability who informed about current and future sustainability reporting - a reporting that is increasing and placing more demands and resources on companies at a rapid pace. A development that is certainly necessary but where the question marks and uncertainties are still many.
The Council is now starting the work of developing clear actions for the government's upcoming climate action plan. No green or sustainable transition without the tech industry's digital tools and solutions - this link must now be much clearer in the upcoming action plan than it is in the existing one.
