Leadership manifesto to secure Swedish competitiveness
TechSverige has developed a manifesto for future tech leadership. The manifesto, which is intended to gather the industry's leaders around a common set of values and a concrete vision, aims to attract new skills but also to strengthen the industry's development in order to continue to act as an enabler for Swedish competitiveness and a sustainable Sweden.
- The tech sector has become an increasingly important part of society, a prerequisite for our economic development and for how we live our lives. This places high demands on the industry's leaders and that they take their responsibility for the continued sustainable development of Sweden," says Åsa Zetterberg, Director of TechSverige.
Sweden currently lacks 70,000 tech workers but has difficulty finding and attracting them. At the same time, the tech industry is growing in importance in society and has established itself as Sweden's new basic industry and an enabler for solving major societal problems - both locally and globally.
- "A key to being able to attract new skills and thus strengthen the industry's development to continue to act as an enabler for a competitive Sweden is that we develop leadership in the industry," says Per Wallentin, Chairman of the Board of TechSverige.
The manifesto has been developed together with TechSverige's board and the hope is that more tech leaders will support the initiative.
- The manifesto is intended to engage and unite leaders at all levels of the tech industry, but also to inspire other leaders in other industries. Our hope is that as many tech leaders as possible will get behind the manifesto. Because when we succeed, Sweden also succeeds," says Åsa Zetterberg.
The goal is that the initiative will:
- Attract and make the tech industry the preferred choice for tomorrow's talent.
- Inspire and raise the profile of the tech industry for its inclusive and communicative leadership and by tech leaders stepping more into the public debate.
- Supporting and empowering current and future leaders in the sector to become comfortable in their leadership role.
- And by changing the perception of tech and strengthening the industry as a whole.
