Hello CEO: Sofia Gerstenfeld, Visma Enterprise
In TechSverige's article series Hello CEO, we are now focusing on the development of the tech industry and the decision on an independent TechSverige. First up to answer topical questions is board member Sofia Gerstenfeld, CEO of Visma Enterprises.
TechSverige recently presented the report Swedish Tech Industry 2023, which shows that tech companies continue to make a strong contribution to the Swedish economy and society. Sofia Gerstenfeld is positive about the development and future of the tech industry.
- At Visma, for example, we expect to grow 10-12 percent organically every year until 2030, and we also expect a significant improvement in margins, which we think will be possible with the help of AI. Since we work with business-critical software where we focus on automation, UX, AI and anomaly detection, we also see that our systems are enablers for our customers. They can thus streamline their processes with the help of our solutions and thus spend time on what counts for them, or of course reduce their workforce," says Sofia Gerstenfeld.
TechSverige's board has decided to leave the current collaboration with Almega. How do you think that an independent TechSverige will be able to deliver increased member benefits to its member companies?
- As an independent organization, we can focus even more on our member companies and do not need to spend time on Almega's common issues. There is a big difference between the unions and different member companies within Almega today. What can be an advantage for our members can be a disadvantage for Almega as a whole. Many tech companies are not interested in collective agreements, but as an individual actor, we can make it more attractive because we can then push issues that are important to our industry. We should be able to gain more influence in the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and there are opportunities to cooperate with other unions outside Almega.
If you were to look ahead, how do you see TechSverige in 5-7 years? What position does the union have in the public debate and what role does it play for all of Sweden's tech companies?
- Strong, larger and more relevant, which means that even companies that do not want to sign agreements today are interested in joining. Since we represent an industry of the future, we must continue to develop and demand that the unions develop with us and our member companies. I believe that we have an easier time getting our message across, both in terms of what we contribute but also as enablers for other industries. We are invited to participate in the public debate to a greater extent and will be the largest union in the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise.
