Tech industry crucial for the climate transition

On Monday, the government's climate policy action plan was discussed at the Climate Policy Council. Using the action plan's table of contents, TechSweden's business policy expert Frida Faxborn has visualized where digitization is crucial for success and which areas are also important for the tech industry's ability to contribute.  

At the meeting at the Climate Policy Council, the following were highlighted from the perspective of TechSweden and the industry: 

  • Tech industry wants ambitious Swedish climate action but the government's action plan lacks ambitious climate leadership
  • The tech industry wants to and can contribute solutions for the sustainable, climate-smart and energy-efficient transition of the WHOLE society
  • The action plan lacks insight and knowledge of and connection to digitization as a necessary infrastructure and tool for Sweden to achieve the climate goals
  • In TechSweden's input to the action plan, concrete proposals were made for measures to be taken by the government here and now so that the tech industry can further contribute to society to achieve the climate goals.
