Companies using cloud services export more
A report on cloud services was launched at the latest meeting of TechSveriges Dataråd (5/9). The report from the National Board of Trade Cloud Services and Export Performance shows, among other things, that companies that use cloud services tend to be larger, more productive and more internationalized. Successful cloud development also places great demands, not least on EU legislation, to create the right conditions.
Almost 375 years old, the College of Commerce is certainly taking digitalization in stride, after the industrial revolution, financial crises and other events over the centuries. However, the College is forward-looking and follows digitalization and trade issues closely, and has released several important reports throughout the year.
This report shows that companies using cloud computing services often have a stronger international presence, with higher export volumes and more export markets. It also highlights the importance of reducing trade friction, particularly between the EU and the US, to ensure continued access to cloud services that are crucial to maintaining competitiveness.
- "Smaller companies in particular are reaping the greatest export benefits from using cloud services," says one of the report's authors, Hannes Berggren, who presented the report together with Patrik Karpaty. Joakim Wernberg, a researcher who follows issues related to cloud services, platforms and AI, also commented on the results of the report and sees the need to continue to follow cloud developments for digital transformation and competitiveness.
- An important report on a topic that TechSverige's Data Council follows closely - it was of course extra fun that the report was released with us, says Data Council Chairman Daniel Ehnhage from Atea.
TechSverige's Data Council consists of members from the leading tech companies in the Swedish market. The council works, among other things, to increase the opportunities for data-driven innovation.
