TechSverige, Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer in new cooperation agreement

On 19 December, the industry and employers' organization TechSverige, together with the trade unions Sveriges Ingenjörer and Unionen, signed a cooperation agreement to promote an internationally competitive IT and telecom industry in Sweden. The agreement marks an important milestone for the industry and strengthens the parties' joint ambition to create sustainable and innovative development for companies and employees.

The new cooperation agreement builds on the letter of intent previously presented by the parties. The aim of the agreement is to strengthen the long-term competitiveness and sustainability of the IT and telecom industry by promoting a positive working environment, diversity and good cooperation between employers, employees and trade union representatives. Through consensus on strategic issues, such as skills supply and the future needs of the industry, the agreement will contribute to the development of both companies and employees.

- "This agreement creates a platform for long-term cooperation in a fast-moving and global industry. We need to work together to ensure that the industry remains competitive and sustainable," says Åsa Zetterberg, Director of TechSverige.

- With this agreement, we look forward to a constructive collaboration on collective agreements where we can work together to highlight the benefits that it means for companies, members and union representatives, says Ulrika Lindstrand, President of the Swedish Association of Graduate Engineers.

- We now have agreements that set the framework for long-term joint work. Increased cooperation at both central and local level, between companies and union representatives, benefits the development of the industry and gives our members security," says Peter Hellberg, Chairman of Unionen.

The agreement makes it clear that a shared understanding of the sector's needs is crucial for success. By strengthening dialogue between the parties, strategic challenges, such as skills supply and industrial policy issues, will be addressed with a long-term perspective.

The signed cooperation agreement will enter into force on January 1, 2025.
