People in tech: Jonathan Wahlström, Bit Addict
In TechSweden's article series People in Tech, we focus on people with HR roles in member companies. Bit Addict's headquarters are located at Västra Hamngatan 14 in Gothenburg, where Jonathan Wahlström has been working as a consultant manager for four years.
Can you briefly describe your role at Bit Addict?
– Bit Addict is a small consulting company with many wonderful engineering colleagues who love solving problems. My role is to take care of our consultants, everything from their daily work to monthly and annual issues. I also work closely with my colleague in charge of recruitment to find new people who fit in with us, as well as with sales to find new exciting assignments.
What issues are at the top of the agenda right now?
– Right now, there is a strong focus on recruitment. We are seeing the market begin to turn around. Although there is still some uncertainty around us, we are noticing that demand is slowly increasing, and the market is daring to hope for an imminent economic boom.
What do you think is important for leadership?
– Transparency, clarity, and understanding. Simple words, but far from easy to apply in practice. I feel that a distance can easily arise between managers and those they are responsible for. For me, it is important to understand each individual's everyday life and circumstances in order to be able to lead, not just manage.
How would you describe the corporate culture at Bit Addict?
– We are incredibly nerdy, social problem solvers who enjoy talking about everything under the sun. We often organize events as well as spontaneous social gatherings that bring us closer together. Knowledge is freely shared, and it goes without saying that we help each other when someone encounters a problem.
What advantages do you see in your membership of TechSverige?
– A lot happens every year, the legal framework changes, and it's not always easy to keep up. TechSverige has supported us in all the issues we've had, which makes it easier for us to understand what we as a company need to relate to and to clearly communicate this internally.
