Debate: The shortage of engineers is holding back Swedish growth

The government needs to shift from short-term initiatives to long-term reforms, rather than just patching things up, write representatives from TechSverige and IKEM, the Swedish Innovation and Chemical Industries Association, in an op-ed in Göteborgs-Posten.

TechSverige and IKEM represent over 2,600 companies whose access to engineers is crucial to their ability to invest, grow, and maintain operations in Sweden. When there is a shortage of skilled workers, Sweden’s entire ability to compete globally is affected.
