Maria Abrahamsson Digital Principal of the Year 2013_2

At the Rktorsakademiens competence festival that took place on Monday evening 7/10, Maria Abrahamsson, principal at Stenungsskolan, was named Digital Principal of the Year 2013.

Motivation: "Maria Abrahamsson works systematically and purposefully to promote digital competences in her school, both among teachers and students. Maria has a passion for digital tools, she strategizes to develop digital literacy in the college, challenges and breaks traditional patterns. Maria is a doer and overcomes what can be perceived as complicated with IT".

Other treats from the evening included the principal of Glada Hudik schools, Lena Lingman, who offered the following words of wisdom:

  • "You shouldn't think you're the only one" = the anti-Jantelag of the Glada Hudik schools
  • "There are many adults with signaling errors". Many are unaware of the strong signals that being passive and avoiding action sends.

The evening ended with a lively debate between school politicians Ibrahim Baylan (S), Bertil Östberg (FP), Maria Stockhaus (M) and Matz Nilsson, head of the Swedish School Leaders' Association.
