Minister Mehmet Kaplan, Minister of Housing, Urban Development and IT, today visited the IT&Telecom companies' packed lunch seminar and talked about IT policy based on the question "Why should we be the best in the world?". Watch the whole seminar, or just the IT Minister's speech, afterwards here.

The Minister of IT was invited to speak about the government's vision for IT policy and the importance of digitization for society, based on the IT&Telecom companies' question "Why should we be the best in the world?"

- "It is very positive that in his speech he emphasized both the importance of digitization for our entire society and that the companies in our industry are extremely important in driving that development. And not least important, he emphasized that the government's mission is to support, and not act as an obstacle to, the companies, comments Anne-Marie Fransson, Director of IT&Telecom companies.

- On the other hand, we still think that there are no concrete proposals for action from the Minister. What we heard today was a good description of the situation, but did not express a particularly visionary or action-oriented IT policy, as several in the audience put it in the discussion afterwards.
