CEOs for gender equality 365 days a year

On March 8, the CEOs of the companies participating in Womentor 2017 gathered to learn more and discuss issues such as Why should we work with gender equality? Is there a business case? and What perceptions, prejudices and barriers are standing in the way of change?

The fact that the workshop took place on International Women's Day was of course no coincidence, but what all participants agree on is that the challenge of women still being a minority in the IT and telecom industry is something that needs to be addressed and worked on every day, all year round.

- This group generally prefers to talk about practical solutions rather than problems, but finding solutions first requires an insight into the problem(s) that the solution will actually solve. If it's not allowed to hurt a little, there simply won't be any good solutions, and I think everyone agreed on that at the end of the day," says Karin Ahlström, who led the workshop together with Fredrik Bondestam, Research Coordinator at the National Secretariat for Gender Research at the University of Gothenburg.
