Survey results: skills needs 2017
As part of producing a new version of the report Acute and structural skills shortage in the IT and telecom sector from 2015, IT&Telekomföretagen has carried out work to define the skills that IT companies and other digital businesses are looking for, and also sent out a survey to investigate the need for these skills. The new version of the report will be presented in the fall of 2017.
The survey was completed by 200 respondents, mainly active in IT and telecom delivery. Without claiming to be statistically valid, the survey results indicate the following:
- High, and increasing, demand across the board for IT/digitalization skills, with particular emphasis on programming and systems architecture.
- Generally high requirements for higher education qualifications. The competencies where higher vocational education is most relevant are in support, IT infrastructure and IT service management.
- Generally high requirements for personal and social competences in most competences, in the sense that they should be integral parts of the training.
