Hello said Petronella or "You should welcome our business"

The fast-growing company Min Doktor has been a member of IT&Telekomföretagen for about a year, and has been very active in the Council for Welfare Technology since its inception.

Earlier this spring, we took the opportunity to visit their Malmö office, which employs around 100 people, including management, data analysts, developers, designers, experts in information security, user experience and, of course, doctors and quality teams. We spend an intense moment with the company's Head of Communications, Petronella Warg. Petronella is driven, convinced that Min Doktor can contribute to better public health and very committed.

Min Doktor was founded in 2013 by Magnus Nyhlén, a doctor with an idea to develop a service that would streamline the care process for both doctors and patients. Since its inception, Min Doktor has challenged, broken new ground and with this also met a lot of resistance - but also gained several followers who saw the potential of digital care meetings. According to Petronella, the resistance has mainly been based on the county councils' outdated regulations and reimbursement structures that have caused concern among traditional healthcare providers.

- Of course, we also face questions about whether a medical assessment can really be done digitally and then we always take the opportunity to explain how the care and the doctor are the same, but we use technology to make the doctor more efficient as a resource, and can thus also offer a much safer care process with unique quality work, statistics and peer review. The fact that it also costs society a third of what physical care meetings cost and saves on working hours and travel is hard to argue against. We now know that this is just the beginning of a major transformation, with various sensors and connected measuring devices soon to become part of every family's medicine cabinet, allowing more and more conditions to be assessed by healthcare professionals remotely and managed at home.

Why did you become a member of IT&Telecom?

- The network is incredibly competent and valuable, it also gives us new insights into how digitization is progressing in the world outside our particular industry and how our piece of the puzzle fits into the big picture. We want to be part of driving the development of society and as a pioneering business, we can share that challenge with other digitalized companies at the forefront.

What issues do you think are most important for IT&Telecom companies to pursue?

- There is still a lot of work to be done to inform people about the benefits that digitalization can actually bring to society. IT&Telecom companies are gathering expertise and examples of this from companies in various industries, thereby creating a better opportunity for all of us to spread knowledge - and ensure that digitization is accelerated, that we as a society implement the solutions that can streamline processes and save valuable resources - both in terms of money and skills, such as in healthcare, where doctors are not enough today. If we can work together to help public actors understand opportunities and solve challenges, we will be of real benefit. The fact that we members also learn and are inspired by each other is a bonus in this context.
