Sofia Gerstenfeld

IT&Telecom welcomes Sofia Gerstenfeld as new Vice Chair of the Board.

Sofia is currently CEO of Visma Enterprise and has been on the board of IT&Telecomföretagen since 2017. She has worked in the IT industry for thirteen years and has developed a special interest in skills supply issues, which she also sees as an important issue for the future.

Sofia has worked in the IT industry since 2007 when she joined Visma. There, Sofia has developed in various roles together with the company. Today, she is CEO of Visma Enterprise, which offers digital solutions to the private and public sectors that automate and simplify business-critical processes in HR, payroll and staffing. The company also offers financial systems and systems for assistive technology management in healthcare and other public organizations.

- I have worked in the IT industry for a long time and have always enjoyed it immensely. There have been plenty of challenges that have taught me a lot over the years," says Sofia Gerstenfeld.

In the summer of 2016, Sofia Gerstenfeld met Anne-Marie Fransson, then Director of IT&Telekomföretagen, at a seminar in Almedalen. The following year, Gerstenfeld took a seat on the board.

- I am impressed by how IT&Telecomföretagen has managed to put the industry on the market. It is an honor to be part of the board and I am happy for the opportunity it gives to drive issues related to skills supply. In the future, all professions will require IT skills, no matter what you work with," says Sofia Gerstenfeld.

Awakening children's curiosity about IT at an early age and encouraging more women to choose an IT career are areas that are particularly close to her heart. Sofia Gerstenfeld is also on the board of Hello World, a non-profit organization that encourages all children to take an interest in technology, regardless of gender or social background.

- The jobs of the future are here and the demand for skills is growing all the time. Sweden needs more people to train in IT and it is important that recruitment can take place from all levels. I hope that more women will open their eyes to all the fantastic opportunities offered in this industry," says Sofia Gerstenfeld.

In addition to skills supply, advocacy is another area that Sofia Gerstenfeld sees as a priority.

- Influencing and educating politicians is important. We need to make them understand our challenges, see the opportunities linked to digitalization, and have confidence in the industry's ability to address security issues," says Sofia Gerstenfeld.

In the future, it will also be important to work to encourage more companies to become members of IT&Telecomföretagen. Many see the benefits of having collective agreements, but the extra value that membership provides needs to be clarified.

- I believe that most companies see the value of getting support in employer issues run by Almega. But I look forward to also highlighting the value that a small and efficient organization like IT&Telekomföretagen can offer, through our knowledge of the industry's challenges and opportunities," says Sofia Gerstenfeld.
