IBM - IT security and high quality education

#290CyberSecurity is a project that spreads knowledge about the safe use of the internet and links the role of digitization to sustainability issues and the global goals. The initiative is a collaborative project between Young Researchers, IBM and other organizations and companies in the technology industry. Volunteers from the organizations involved in the initiative give lectures at schools in Sweden on site or digitally and schools can also access teacher materials, recorded films and exercises.

Are you sure? The aim of the initiative is for students to understand how to develop safe online habits. By teaching young people about how information can be shared online and how to protect their data, we are working to reduce the number of young people who are victims of online abuse. At the same time, we are laying the foundations for safe habits for future adult life.

The target group of the initiative is children and young people aged 10-19. The project's materials have been specially developed by experts for middle, secondary and high schools, and are thus adapted for pupils of different ages and abilities.

A sustainable digital society requires good cybersecurity and citizens who know how to act safely online. In this way, the initiative links to objective 11. Furthermore, the initiative links to objective 4 as it provides students of all ages with access to high quality education from cybersecurity experts, regardless of where they live in the country or what resources their school has. As this initiative involves multiple stakeholders and welcomes new partners on board all the time, it also links directly to objective 17. The SDGs are not something we can achieve alone. The more we are working together, the greater the impact!
