Blocket as a marketplace and as an employer is for everyone. With its marketplaces, Blocket contributes to improving the relationship between employers and job seekers by actively working for equality and diversity through all aspects of the value chain.

When it comes to gender equality, we work on several levels and aspects. On the one hand, we have ambitious goals that we actively work towards, to create an equal workplace.
We have an internal working group that works cross-functionally with Diversity & Inclusion. We work on the issue of gender equality through our various marketplaces, and we also work in terms of communication to take a stand and raise our voice. We are also involved in several initiatives to promote gender equality, such as Womentor, Female Founders and Tjejer kodar.

Choose used over new for a more sustainable future

For Blocket, the circular economy is part of its business concept. When we consume too much, it leads to forests being cut down, water being polluted, oceans being filled with plastic, biodiversity being degraded and climate change worsening. If we are to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goal 12 by 2030, this behavior must change.

By encouraging more people to choose second-hand instead of new, we protect the climate and the environment and contribute to a more sustainable future. New things do not need to be manufactured, less stuff is thrown away and emissions are reduced. Every year, Blocket users save around 0.7 million tons of CO2e by choosing used instead of new. This is the equivalent of all traffic in Stockholm standing still for about ten months.
