Tech sector contribution to GDP in 2020
In May, IT&Telkomföretagen presented the report Tech is Sweden's new basic industry, which shows that the tech industry has established itself as a new base for the Swedish economy.
Since 1981, the industry's contribution to GDP has grown by 1300% and amounted to a total of SEK 281 billion in 2020. The industry's contribution to GDP in absolute terms is almost as large as the contribution of the traditional Swedish basic industries combined.
