Sustainable theme for Womento Day

On Thursday, September 16, the annual Womentor Day took place. Everyone who has ever participated in the program was given an opportunity to gain new knowledge and inspiration in leadership as well as to have fruitful exchanges with new and old contacts. Mikael Botnen Diamant, consultant and author, led a discussion on sustainable governance in the tech industry.

- "I shared the conclusions of my book Hållbariseringen, which I wrote with my co-author Carl-Johan Schultz and which will be published in October. We talked about why it has become impossible for companies today to avoid sustainability issues, but also how to approach the transition to sustainable business models," says Mikael Botnen Diamant.

IT&Telecom companies are actively working to highlight the member companies that contribute to the 2030 Agenda. Is it important?

- Yes, it is positive and important to measure and be transparent about the contributions made to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda. It can boost the work of the companies mentioned even more, as it creates pride in being highlighted as a role model. And it can make other companies want to increase their involvement and commitments.

Do you have an opinion on the general attitude of the tech industry towards sustainability issues?

- As in most industries, there are those who have come a long way, those who have not started at all and everything in between. The tech industry is exciting. On the one hand, society expects the industry to take great responsibility for solving current and future problems through new technological solutions. And at the same time, the tech industry has a number of sustainability-related challenges linked to difficult industry-related issues.
