Ana Andric new expert on industrial policy
Welcome Ana! Can you give us a brief introduction of yourself outside of work?
- I was born in Dubrovnik in Croatia and grew up in Västerås. Right now I split my time between Västerås and Stockholm.
What attracted you to the position at IT&Telecom?
- "For me, it felt very attractive to work with skills supply in an industry that is of great importance for Sweden's growth. Skills needs are affected by the industry growing and changing at a rapid pace. It is very fun and challenging to work on how these needs can be met. Together with the team at IT&Telecomföretagen, I want to contribute to increasing the conditions for the tech industry to grow.
What do you see as the biggest challenges?
- The need for IT skills is critical. It will take a combination of measures to get more people to want to apply for tech jobs, women in particular. The IT & telecom companies have and are already taking great responsibility for increasing the attractiveness of the industry and gender equality. This work needs to continue! Access to training and further education must be strengthened. The range of training on offer also needs to be adapted to the needs of different target groups.
