Tobias Odervång new membership manager at TechSverige

At the beginning of the year, Tobias Odervång took over as membership manager at TechSverige. Tobias comes most recently from a role as membership and training manager at the Swedish HR Association.

Can you give us a brief introduction of yourself outside of work?
- I was born and raised in Stockholm and have been living in Södermalm for a number of years. My free time is divided between a few different interests, cooking with family and friends is a favorite during the winter and as soon as the ice clears I jump on a board and paddle or lie in the water next to the windsurfing board (still learning). I'm also quite interested in Stockholm's history, so there will be a lot about that too," says Tobias Odervång.

What attracted you to the position of Membership Manager?
- The tech industry is exciting and it holds a large part of Sweden's potential. But it is crucial that the industry is given the right conditions to be able to develop further. The opportunity to be involved in making a difference as a member manager for TechSverige was extremely attractive. It is our member companies that have the collective expertise about the challenges facing the tech industry and together we can influence decision-makers in the right direction. The more we are, the better we understand the challenges and become an even stronger voice when it comes to advocacy work.

What do you see as the biggest challenges?
- We are our members and being relevant and supportive in their challenges is extremely important. For us as an association, it is important to ensure that we, through our various memberships, provide member companies with the right support when it is needed most. TechSverige currently has a very strong membership offering, but the tech industry is moving fast and it is crucial that we keep up so that our memberships continue to be relevant and value-creating, both for our existing and future member companies.
