Closing for Womentor 2021

On Thursday, February 10, Womentor, TechSweden's gender equality and change program for 2021, concluded with a well-attended webinar.

One of the participants was Åsa Zetterberg, Director of TechSverige:

- There is a major skills shortage in the tech industry and we suffer from not having the gender balance that we would like and cannot grow to the extent that we want as a company. The future is here and the opportunities are huge, but we need to create an industry and a story that attracts more people," said Åsa Zetterberg.

The aim of Womentor is for participating companies to achieve gender balance, more women in management positions and an equal culture. The companies that have participated every year since the start in 2006 have also increased the overall proportion of women in their companies.

The program has been run by Karin Ahlström at the team and leadership development company Ardida.

- I have had many fun jobs but Womentor is special. There are many women in the industry who have cool jobs but we need to show and make them visible as role models," said Karin Ahlström.

In 2022, TechSverige will take a holistic approach to gender equality efforts, a work that will continue throughout the year. Recruitment to the Womentor program will therefore be paused in 2022.

TechSverige would like to extend a big thank you to Karin Ahlström and the network Teknikkvinnors Maria Norberg, who have successfully run and developed Womentor.
