TechSverige is pleased to present a new name among our industrial policy experts. Ana Andric has gone on parental leave and is replaced by Pia Högset, a lawyer with a great interest in social issues and the human will and ability to utilize digital development.

Can you give us a brief presentation of yourself and your background?
- I come most recently from the Government Offices of Sweden, where I worked as a cabinet minister on policy issues in the field of digitization. For example, I was responsible for the work on the government's new digitization strategy and the appointment of the government's AI commission. Before joining the Government Offices, I worked for a few years at a law firm in Brussels and as head of unit at the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority.

What will you be doing at TechSverige?

- For the next year, I will be working as an industrial policy expert responsible for skills supply and supporting our member companies in promoting and working on issues that increase the supply of skills in the industry. I am very much looking forward to working closely with member companies and capturing their needs and challenges.

What attracted you to the position?
- The tech industry is fundamental to Sweden's competitiveness and prosperity. Tech is all around us all the time and TechSverige's members account for an important part of the services offered in our increasingly digital everyday life. It is an exciting industry and skills supply is a very important issue for the industry. Issues around digital skills, from the basic ability to the digital excellence, have long captured my interest. I am driven by being able to influence what I believe is the better and to work for constructive solutions where we find ways forward together based on facts, which this service offers.

- I also believe that it is valuable for Sweden as a whole that the public and private sectors have a good understanding of the conditions that exist and are required, which can be achieved more easily if we as professionals move between the different worlds. Through understanding, we can increase the conditions for an innovative and competitive Sweden.

What do you prefer to do when you are not working?

- Since childhood I have loved skiing, preferably downhill. I competed as a child and my love for the mountains is still there, even though I can now imagine walking up a mountain to go down. A few years ago I also started mountain biking, to have something to do when the winter and skiing ended. It is incredibly fun and requires full focus, which is good for relaxation.
