Report of the working group meeting on clarifications of traffic data retention requirements

The law on traffic data retention has been in force since May 1 this year. Work is now underway at the operators to introduce the management in the networks. In order to facilitate and create uniformity, IT&Telekomföretagen has started a working group with the aim of clarifying the relationship between the requirements for what is to be stored in accordance with SFS 2012:128 (the Regulation on what is to be stored) and ITS 27 (Interface for the disclosure of traffic data).

This is a very strong requirement from actors who will procure third-party storage, as there must then be no ambiguity as to what the storage requirements under the Regulation mean and that implementation under ITS 27 meets these requirements.

Work continues in four areas:

Area 1: Storage obligation for passive infrastructure
Clarification of storage obligations for capacity providers of dark fiber or other similar passive equipment.

Area 2: Reading assistance for ITS 27
Create a reading guide for ITS 27

Area 3: Mapping document
Finalize the mapping document

Area 4: Requirements for the transfer
Development of possible requirements for the transfer of traffic data from the data controller to the police.
