Advania becomes a Womentor host company

- We can conclude that the program not only provides inspiration and personal development for our participating employees, but it also gives Advania as a company several important insights in our efforts to become more gender equal. Womentor plays a very important role in increasing gender equality in the industry and it was therefore obvious to accept the role as host company in 2021, a role we are very proud of, says Magnus Wemby.
Gender equality is a very high priority at Advania and according to Magnus Wemby, it is clear that more equal teams perform better. He thinks that Womentor, in addition to giving the participating employees inspiration and personal development, creates opportunities to build networks and exchange experiences in gender equality with other companies in the industry.
Do you have any ideas on how Womentor could be developed?
- Yes, a parallel track for participating companies focusing on how to work more concretely to create an inclusive and more equal culture in their business.
How is Advania working towards gender equality in the IT and telecom industry, apart from its involvement in Womentor?
- Advania is running a number of parallel activities to increase gender equality. For example, we have developed our recruitment process and invested in an internal Talent Acquisition function to attract more women. Furthermore, since 2019, we have been running a recurring training course for all managers to develop our ability to communicate and lead inclusively. The training is mandatory," says Magnus Wemby and continues:
- We have also set up an internal network called AdWoMan to support our management team on how to attract more women and how to retain the women we have today. AdWoMan enables all our staff to exchange knowledge and experience and inspire each other.
